The MYP is a course of study designed to meet the educational requirements of students aged between 12 and 16 years (Year 7 to Year 10). It is a coherent and comprehensive curriculum framework which allows students to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to participate effectively with the changing demands of life in the twenty-first century. This programme provides young people with an education for life and teaches them to relate the learning content of the classroom to the realities of the world outside.
Fundamental Concepts
- Intercultural Awareness
Intercultural awareness is concerned with developing students’ attitudes, knowledge and skills as they learn about their own and others’ cultures. It not only fosters tolerance and respect, but also leads to empathy and understanding.
- Holistic Education
Holistic education helps students to see their knowledge as an interrelated whole. Holistic learning emphasizes the interconnectedness between subjects. Students will realize that what they learn in one subject is important and is connected to what they learn in every other subject.
- Communication
We realize a good command of communication in all of its forms is fundamental to learning. It is essential that students know how to communicate well in expressing their understanding and ideas.
