In Years 7 to 9, the broad-based curriculum provides an excellent foundation for study at senior secondary level. At the end of Year 9 students sit the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Checkpoint examinations in Mathematics, English and Science. These examinations give an objective measure of student performance and are internationally benchmarked.
During Years 10 and 11 students at ACG School Jakarta study a range of courses, some compulsory and some optional, which lead to examinations of the International General Certificates of Secondary Education (IGCSEs).They result in the award of internationally-recognised and respected qualifications equal to the GCSE exams that students in England take at this same stage of their education.
For students in Year 12 and 13, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two year programme of study which follows on directly from IGCSE courses, it provides greater breadth and depth of study than national systems allow and is an internationally recognised qualification for university entrance. Students study six selected subjects, one from each group with 3 at Higher Level (HL) and 3 at Standard Level (SL). Students can select an additional Science (Group 4) subject in Group 6 instead of Visual Arts should they wish to do so. At ACG School Jakarta Chemistry and Sport, Exercise and Health Science are available in Group 6.
